Coastal Restaurants and Bars have been serving up great food and fun on Hilton Head Island since 1973. They just acquired their 10th location, Benny's Coastal Kitchen, a waterfront restaurant that is under construction with an expected opening in late Spring of 2024. From seafood on the water to late-night music, a mouth-watering steak to Tex-Mex food, our restaurants offer something for everyone. They're island grown and operated and invite you to EAT, DRINK AND BE COASTAL.

Coastal Restaurants and Bars currently consists of The Crazy Crabs at Jarvis Creek and Harbour Town, Reilley's Grill and Bar, Aunt Chilada's Easy Street Café, Carolina Crab Company, Fishcamp on Broad Creek, Fishcamp on 11th Street at The Port of Port Royal, The Boardroom and The Old Oyster Factory. The group traces its roots back to 1973 when Peter and Mary Ellen Kenneweg opened up the Hofbrauhaus, a German restaurant that served up hungry patrons until it finally closed in 2006 after a more than 30-year run.

Reilley's was started on the south end in December of 1982. Tom Reilley had been working on the Island for five years selling food. With four children to support, he approached two of his customers, Peter Kenneweg and Serge Pratt, regarding lending him money to open a restaurant. It is now a family business as Tom and Diane have brought in their children, Erin Reilley Booth, Keith Reilley, Brendan Reilley, and Thomas Reilley as partners in the growing number of venues. James Booth got involved in the restaurant business when he married Erin, Tom and Diane's daughter. Today Erin and James are the general managers of Reilley's South. Catherine Reilley is involved in operations, marketing and management.

The group continued its expansion when in 1984 Tom and David Reilley, Peter Kenneweg, Wally Seinsheimer, and Eric Spector bought Boiler's Restaurant on Highway 278 and turned it into The Crazy Crab which overlooks Jarvis Creek. The building was rebuilt in 1998 after a fire and now houses the largest saltwater aquarium on Hilton Head Island as well as an onsite playground and outside deck. Peter's son, Courtney, stands at the helm at The Crazy Crab - keeping great seafood and great business sense in the family.

In 1986 the group brought The Crazy Crab to Harbour Town. Tom sees the longevity and popularity of The Crazy Crabs as multi-faceted: "We offer a unique, family restaurant at reasonable prices with a varied menu, good service, and great vistas." The Crazy Crabs continue to impress customers having won numerous local awards for their Alaskan Snow Crab Legs.

In 1988, Tom and Peter opened Aunt Chilada's Easy Street Café, which offers Mexican, Tex-Mex, and American, and later sold the restaurant to brother David and son Brendan. Brendan, the only Reilley with any formal culinary training, attended the Culinary Institute of Arts in New York. Brendan, who was the chef at the Reilley's in Hawaii, is a big enchilada now at Aunt Chilada's.

Brendan, Thomas, and Keith opened another Reilley venture in 2014 - Carolina Crab Company in Palmetto Bay Marina. Dubbed as "C3,” this is the coziest, most intimate of the restaurants. With indoor and outdoor seating and bars with a water view, you will be well taken care of by the crew. At the end of your meal, walk down to the docks, say hello to some dolphins, and maybe check out some yachts you hope to own by the time you make your next visit to Hilton Head.

In October 2016, Fishcamp on Broad Creek opened to rave reviews. The restaurant affords laid-back waterfront dining on Broad Creek with extensive backyard games, delicious food, and an all-around great time for the whole family. With a fantastic atmosphere, live music, and mouth-watering food, they're a must-see for visitors and locals alike. Fishcamp was such a big hit that the group decided to replicate it and opened their first off-island location in September 2018, Fishcamp on 11th Street, with water views right on the 11th Street Docks in the heart of Port Royal, SC.

In September 2019 The Old Oyster Factory joined the Coastal Restaurants and Bars family. This waterfront restaurant has been operating since 1989. It was built on the site of an original oyster cannery, and oysters from the beds that surround the restaurant are still served in the restaurant. It has been voted one of the "Top 100 Scenic View Restaurants" and "Top 50 Kid-Friendly Restaurants in America," by OpenTable.

Benny's Coastal Kitchen, the newest member of the family, is being built on the water at the shrimp docks made famous by the historic Hudson family. CRAB is honored that the Hudsons were willing to lease some of their land on the water near the shrimp docks, and are building a gorgeous two-story restaurant with a rooftop bar that will honor Benny Hudson's memory. And the Hudsons will be neighbors with their newly enlarged Seafood Market still on the property right across the parking lot!
